After leaving school Dave worked in the building trade with
his father until he was old enough to join the army. He served
for three years in the British army and then moved to Africa
and joined the then Rhodesian Army. He served in Africa for
three years and then returned to the UK for a short time,
before travelling over Europe and the Middle East and finally
residing and working on an Israeli kibbutz for 5 months.
During this time he saw a great deal of life, different
cultures and many people. Upon return again to the UK Dave
enrolled in the London Fire Brigade serving for over seven
years as
a fireman. Then finding life a little dull decided to join
the Metropolitan Police where he served for seven years.
During his latter years with the Police he became a scuba
diving instructor and enjoyed the sport to the full, diving
mainly in British waters on wrecks.
Dave retired from the police service and it was at this
time he became a self employed businessman. He enjoyed this
challenge and set up several businesses then sold them on.
Selling and marketing being areas he particularly enjoyed,
quickly learning how to use these to his best advantage. But,
even then he felt unfulfilled feeling there was something more
challenging awaiting him. It was at this time he became
interested in hypnosis after watching Paul McKenna,
he quickly realised that he didn't want to work on stage for
entertainment but to use these skills to help real people in
real life situations.
After extensive research on the Internet he became less
interested in stage hypnosis and more interested in the concept of
Hypnotherapy, using the power of hypnosis to help people
overcome and recover from lifelong problems. Research led him
to Terence Watts and the Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnosis.
After thorough training with Terence Watts at the Institute,
Dave became a qualified Hypnotherapist and Hypnoanalyst.
As well as this he qualified to Diploma level with the
National Council for Hypnotherapy after another further year
of training. Dave then spent a year learning the skills of EFT
( Emotional Freedom Technique ) and qualified to the advanced
level under the guidance of the founder Gary Craig in the USA
Over the years Dave has evolved his
therapies and uses Hypnotherapy, Hypnoanalysis, Neuro
Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Emotional Freedom Techniques
(E.F.T). Sometimes combining one, two or all three to achieve
the desired outcome for client centred therapy. He has also
taught EFT to over a thousand clients empowering them with a
life long tool. Dave's varied life experiences have
shown him how he can help many people achieve life long
ambitions and remove mental blocks, in
these stressful times he has noticed the increase in anxiety
based disorders and has enjoyed great success in removing
these issues for his clients, in the last 3 years he has
evolved a new style quit smoking programme which is very
powerful with lasting results and a very high success rate, it
is comprised of a single 2 hour session, using a combination
of skills, clients leave feeling empowered and at last in
control of their lives once more.
